Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Jose Goncalves' mission is to provide personalized, high-quality obstetrical, gynecological, and gynecological surgical care on an as-needed or preventative basis. He provides an electronic medical record based (with ereferral capability through Med Access), full-service, Obstetrical and Gynecology practice while working with patients to maintain and improve their health and provide patient centered solutions to their health care problems or concerns. He believes in providing comprehensive health care services to patients in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, in a homey setting (office is in a house), and with antique-themed decor. His is a "one-of-a-kind" office!
Dr. Goncalves achieved his MD degree through the University of British Columbia in 1994. He then attained his Fellowship status through Dalhousie University with the Canadian College of Family Physicians prior to pursuing his OBGYN specialty training. He attained Royal College Fellowship status through the University of British Columbia in 1998 and is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia and and has over 22 years of post graduate experience in his area of specialty.
Dr. Goncalves has been established in Penticton, British Columbia since January 2000. He completed his OBGYN Fellowship in June 1998 and then locumed for one and half years before settling into full time practice. His area of interest include particularly complicated, severe, or repeat prolapse surgery, mesh prolapse repair, primary prolapse repair, urinary incontinence, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery including total laparoscopic hysterectomies for suitable patients, and obstetrics. He has acquired the Mona Lisa Touch Laser to augment his ability to treat vaginal atrophy especially in women who cannot or do not want to use hormones. He has recently acquired the Trusculpt ID for non-invasive permanent fat loss.
